Download the Managing Entity Specification

The GlobalPlatform Managing Entity Specification has been published. This specification completes a ‘stack’ of complementary software standards from ETSI and the NFC Forum that ensures multiple mobile contactless services successfully coexist within a device and operate as intended, regardless of the hosting environment selected by the service provider. The standardized approach provides much needed clarity to service providers delivering NFC services in devices such as smartphones, and benefits OEMs developing devices that support NFC services. Find out more information, or download the specification here.

New Documents Available for Review

The below documents are now available for public review:

    • GlobalPlatform Device Technology TEE Trusted User Interface Low- level API v0.0.0.44 – The low-level API defined in this specification is targeted at a TEE running within a device equipped with at least one display and at least one input device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, set-top box). Unlike the earlier TEE trusted user interface, this API provides maximum screen access and control to the trusted application (TA), moving the look and feel responsibility from the TEE operating system to the TA. This document also offers the first introduction of the new peripheral and event access system, which will be moved into the general TEE Internal Core functionality in future releases. Please provide comments by Monday, 18 September to trusted-ui-low-review@globalplatform.org

  • GlobalPlatform Device Technology TUI Extension: TEE Biometrics API v0.0.0.74 – This specification focuses on a TEE running within a smartphone or tablet. The specification enables a trusted application housed in the safety of the TEE to provide biometric validation services to entities in the rich execution environment and elsewhere. Smartphones and tablets must have a biometric sensor which is wired and integral to the device. Remote peripherals are not considered in this specification. Please provide comments by Thursday, 5 October to bio_api_review@globalplat form.org
