GlobalPlatform to Deliver Two-Day Mobile UICC-Focused Card Specification Training Session in Paris

15 April 2010 - GlobalPlatform, the international specification body for smart card infrastructure, has announced the location of its first two-day card technology training session. The session will be held at the Hotel Novotel Paris Pont de Sevres in Paris from 26-27 May 2010.

The GlobalPlatform training program is designed to improve industry knowledge of the smart card specifications available, their function and capabilities, and the business benefits gained from implementing standardized and sustainable technology.

Delivered by an experienced GlobalPlatform instructor in English, the training is designed to improve knowledge of GlobalPlatform's technology, its function and capabilities, and the benefits gained from implementing a standardized smart card infrastructure. The session will outline GlobalPlatform's suite of card specifications as well as its UICC Configuration – a technical guide which outlines a common and neutral environment to facilitate the secure delivery over-the-air of new and creative mobile services to consumers.  Furthermore, there will also be instruction on GlobalPlatform's amendments addressing Confidential Card Content Management, remote application management over HTTP, contactless services, Secure Channel Protocols and Card Networked Framework.

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, comments: “GlobalPlatform has received an overwhelming response from the industry since launching its open card training sessions last year, which underlines the demand for this specialized training.  GlobalPlatform invests considerable resources in the ongoing development of its educational program, and in light of the positive feedback received, plans to continue to hold training sessions at key locations across the globe during 2010 and beyond.”

Training is open to GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $1,595 and US $2,195 respectively.  Discounts are available to organizations sending multiple students to the training session.  There are a limited number of seats available to ensure good interaction between the instructor and students, so interested parties are advised to register promptly.
