GlobalPlatform Publishes its 2015 Training Calendar

21 January 2015 – GlobalPlatform today announces the launch of the global annual training calendar for its specialist two-part secure chip technology 2015 program. The schedule outlines the location and times of this year’s sessions, which are designed to improve industry knowledge of the function, capabilities and business benefits of implementing highly specified and standardized technology.

GlobalPlatform, the industry body which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, leverages its technical expertise on interoperability standards to deliver a tailored, focused training program. Launched in 2009 to meet market demand, its two-day Card Specification Training and one-day Contactless Training events have seen consistent engagement from students globally.

At this time, GlobalPlatform has five open training sessions scheduled for 2015 – one taking place in Asia, two in Europe and a further two in the United States.

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director at GlobalPlatform, comments: “We are delighted to get the preparations for this year’s training sessions underway. Since the program was launched, GlobalPlatform has trained over 700 students in public and in-house training, with open sessions delivered across Europe, Asia and the Americas market to ensure close proximity to GlobalPlatform’s stakeholders.

“The rising demand for our sessions has made it imperative for us to provide interested stakeholders with an annual calendar, so that they can register for the most convenient session before it sells out. We look forward to closing the year out with many more students confident in implementing the GlobalPlatform Specifications to meet their respective business needs.”

GlobalPlatform’s Card Specification Training provides an in-depth explanation of the GlobalPlatform Card Specifications, and addresses secure channels, security domains and application programming interfaces. The GlobalPlatform for Contactless Training Session exclusively addresses the role of GlobalPlatform Specifications in relation to contactless-enabled services on mobile platforms.

The two-day card specification training session is open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $1,595 and US $2,195 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $200 per student. Organizations sending three or more students will receive a discount of US $350 per student.

The GlobalPlatform for Contactless Training session is also open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $995 and US $1,295 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $100 per student. Organizations sending three of more students will receive a discount of US $200 per student.

To provide a dynamic learning environment, the sessions will be limited to a minimum of seven students and a maximum of 15 students.
