GlobalPlatform Hosts First Card Training Session in London

08 April 2011 – After a string of successful global training events, GlobalPlatform has announced its first UK-based card training session will be held at the Hilton London Olympia on 22 and 23 June 2011.The event is designed to educate participants on the importance of GlobalPlatform Card Specifications, their capabilities and functions.

This training event, which has been running for over two years, provides in-depth knowledge and context regarding the use and benefits of deploying GlobalPlatform's freely available specifications, which provide the foundation for market convergence and innovative new cross-sector partnerships.  The technology has been adopted globally across finance, mobile/telecom, government, healthcare, retail and transit sectors.

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, comments: "GlobalPlatform's Card Specification training events continue to be of interest to an increasing number of participants throughout the secure chip technology sector, and in particular to audiences developing mobile services. To address industry demand, the session will have a mobile focus and detail how GlobalPlatform's technology outlines a common and neutral environment to facilitate the secure delivery over-the-air of new and creative mobile services to consumers. We are delighted to bring this session to the UK."

The session is open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $1,595 and US $2,195 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $200 per student. Organizations sending three or more will receive a discount of US $350 per student. To ensure good interaction between the instructor and students, there are a limited number of seats, so interested parties are advised to register promptly at www.globalplatform.org / training.

GlobalPlatform is a cross industry, not-for-profit association which identifies, develops and publishes specifications which facilitate the secure and interoperable deployment and management of multiple embedded applications on secure chip technology.  Its proven technical specifications are regarded as theinternational industry standard for building a trusted end-to-end solution which serves multiple actors and supports several business models.
