GlobalPlatform and Winbond Host IoT Security Certification Seminar

Free event explains how device manufacturers can deliver flexible and efficient security evaluation for IoT product developers and issuers

November 24, 2022 – GlobalPlatform, the standard for secure digital services and devices, and Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading global supplier of semiconductor memory solutions, will host a free-to-attend ‘Certified Trust’ seminar on Wednesday, November 30 at the Sheraton Taipei Hotel in Taipei City, Taiwan. Sponsored by supporting partner SGS Brightsight, the seminar will feature live keynote speeches, use cases and panel discussions with speakers from Taiwan Ministry of Digital Affairs, GlobalPlatform, US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Taiwan Institute for Information Industry (III), TrustCB, Winbond and more.

Delegates will learn how GlobalPlatform’s Security Evaluation Standards for IoT Platform’s (SESIP) methodology enables device makers and vendors to quickly and cost-effectively evaluate security. Speakers will also demonstrate the value of certification in bringing trust to the IoT ecosystem. SESIP aligns with EU and US cybersecurity standards including EN 303 645, IEC 62443 and NIST8259, and the seminar will explore how the methodology can also be used to adhere to regional regulations in Taiwan.

“As the IoT continues to expand, adherence to regulations and certifications are vital to demonstrate that products meet the required levels of security. SESIP simplifies device certification, by enabling composition and reuse of certificates across different evaluations.” commented Ilia Stolov, Technology Executive, Winbond.

“Following successful sessions in Austin and Barcelona this year, it is important that we bring the SESIP Seminar series to another key geography in Taiwan, and Asia, to drive awareness of the methodology. We look forward to welcoming delegates to Taipei City, Taiwan, to learn about how SESIP can be used by stakeholders throughout the IoT ecosystem,” adds Ana Tavares Lattibeaudiere, GlobalPlatform Executive Director.

The seminar is open to everyone with an interest in IoT security certification. Seating is limited so registration is required here. If you cannot attend in-person, you can register your interest to attend virtually.
