This specification is based on the same security architecture as defined by GlobalPlatform Card Specification v2.2. It introduces new concepts that will enable the administration of a new generation of GlobalPlatform cards which can utilize TCP/IP communications, support web applications similar to those found on IT servers, and offers an execution environment with concurrent application execution. The application programming interface (API) proposed is based on Java Card™ 3 Connected Edition Runtime Environment.
