Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

At the end of September, the IoTopia Committee’s Device Intent Working Group hosted a virtual MUD File Service demonstration and panel discussion with MUD expert participation. This is the second part of our MUD webinar series, exploring the key themes around MUD file servers and how GlobalPlatform is supporting the IoT ecosystem.

GlobalPlatform has also announced a new specification which simplifies the integration of Strong Customer Authentication for payments services. Additionally, members can now view the presentations from August’s technical workshop in Taiwan here.

Looking ahead to next month, members can now register to attend GlobalPlatform Fall Meetings virtually from November 16-20.

Catch up on part 2 of our MUD webinar

On September 30, the Device Intent Working Group hosted a live webinar for members on the soft launch of its MUD File Service.

During the webinar, GlobalPlatform Technical Director Gil Bernabeu explained the importance of the MUD File Service as a component of IoT infrastructure. He also shared a demonstration of a GlobalPlatform developed operational MUD File Service, which can be used to better understand the evolving market requirements across various connected vertical markets. A panel discussion followed with expert representation from NIST, Cisco and UL.

Register for our Fall Meetings

On November 16-20 GlobalPlatform will be virtually hosting its member Fall Meetings.

The virtual meetings present a fantastic opportunity for members to have their say on GlobalPlatform’s committee and task force priorities for the coming year. We look forward to hosting a range of discussions and learning more about the exciting projects and implementations from our members.

The meetings also represent a good opportunity to reflect on what has been the 20th year for our organization.

Taiwan workshop slides now available to members

Members can now download the presentation decks from our IoT Security and Certification Workshop which took place in Taiwan.

The workshop, which was presented in partnership with Winbond and Arm, explored the value of certification for IoT device makers across various vertical markets.

GlobalPlatform Releases New Broker Interface Specification

GlobalPlatform has announced the release of a new specification for the Secure Element Broker Interface, which simplifies end user authentication in a range of payments use cases and form factors.

The specification enables service providers to easily develop new solutions which utilize authentication methods available on the device so consumers can rely on a single secure authentication method, rather than remembering multiple PINs or passcodes.

Specifications Under Review

A minor version release of the GPD Internal Core API, with additions and bug fixes applied and showing all non-trivial changes since v1.2.1.

This document is the Secure Media Path Protection Profile module for the TEE Protection Profile. Section 6 contains Security Functional Requirements (SFR) expressed in non-Common Criteria language, and Section 7 contains SFRs in CC language. These contents will be re-organized after the public review.

The first complete draft of the Trusted User Interface module for the TEE Protection Profile, which provides assurance to the end-user that the display and input peripherals are owned by a specific TA at time of entry or display of sensitive data.
