Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

October was a hugely significant month for GlobalPlatform with the public unveiling of IoTopia at IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona. It was wonderful to receive such a positive reaction and the following panel session alongside ENISA, GSMA and NIST offered valuable insight into the work that needs to be done to secure the IoT ecosystem.

Looking ahead, we host our Fall Meetings in Madrid this month. Discussions will address the next steps for IoTopia and a wide range of additional GlobalPlatform initiatives. The meetings will also provide an opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of GlobalPlatform!

We look forward to seeing you in Madrid!

IoTopia unveiled at IoT Solutions World Congress

Last month, GlobalPlatform unveiled IoTopia – GlobalPlatform’s aim to create an IoT security framework at IoT Solutions World Congress 2019.

IoTopia will provide a framework to secure IoT devices across all markets, in line with global requirements.

Following the announcement, we hosted a panel session with guests, ENISA, GSMA and NIST; which generated fascinating discussions around the challenges that face IoT actors and the security the ecosystem so badly needs.
