November 2017 - Letter from GlobalPltform’s Executive Director, Kevin Gillick

GlobalPlatform has undergone an organizational restructure to better align the activities of its Task Forces and Work Groups with meeting the complex security challenges of emerging technologies.

Further details of these changes are below. You may have also noticed the new logo. This is part of a larger initiative to evolve GlobalPlatform’s visual identity. New logos and icons are available on the Member Web site under Resources. Further enhancements, including changes to the GlobalPlatform website, will be announced in the coming months. And to members attending the Fall meetings in Vienna, beginning on Monday, 6 November - I look forward to seeing you there!

New Organizational Structure

GlobalPlatform has sharpened its focus on secure digital services, secure management, privacy, trust and functional and security certification, and has updated its value messaging accordingly. As such, the Card and Device Committees will now be known respectively as the SE and TEE Committees. We have also created a new technical committee called the Trusted Platform Services (TPS) Committee. This new committee aims to provide a standard set of APIs for application vendors who wish to make use of the secure services offered by a secure component.
