Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

Last month GlobalPlatform announced its support of the Security Evaluation Standard for IoT Platforms (SESIP) methodology. This represents another exciting step for the organization and one that will bring consistency and trust to the IoT device security certification process, reducing complexity, costs and time to market for IoT stakeholders. If you missed our SESIP webinar, you can watch the video on-demand here.

We are grateful to those who were able to join us remotely for our Spring Meetings last month. As a reminder, we hope you will be able to join us for our Technical Meetings, which will be held virtually from June 17 – July 2. You can access the schedule on the member website here.

As the world battles the ongoing effects of COVID-19, our thoughts go to our colleagues, members, family and friends. While GlobalPlatform is lucky to be in a position of having always operated remotely, we understand that this is not the case for many of our members and we are grateful for the continued dedication that our membership has shown in these trying times.

Technical Meeting week to take place virtually

As you may have anticipated, GlobalPlatform members will not be gathering face-to-face in Bucharest, Romania for our annual Technical Week of meetings. The Board of Directors took the decision to schedule all meetings as virtual gatherings in light of COVID-19.  The Secretariat has worked closely with committee Chairs to arrange a schedule of meetings that will accommodate most time zones and reduce overlap.  Virtual meetings are scheduled from Wednesday, 17 June through Thursday, 2 July.
