Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

March is shaping up to be an exciting month for GlobalPlatform.

We have announced an intent to appoint a strategic director to support the Board of Directors on matters related to IoT, published the agenda for our spring member meetings and published the fall meeting videos from the recent Advisory Council plenary session!

In addition, we have made available two documents for review, and confirmed our attendance at several events around the world.

Call for Volunteers: Strategic Director Appointment

GlobalPlatform’s Board of Directors is seeking to appoint a member with expertise in IoT deployment to serve as strategic director.

The selected candidate will support the Board, by leading specific initatives, while providing guidance and strategic direction.

Rescheduling - Member DTA Webinar

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have rescheduled our Device Trust Architecture (DTA) Webinar.

The webinar will now take place on March 5 at 8:00 AM PST.

Members unable to join the webinar will be able to access a recording of the event, via the member website, shortly afterwards.

2019: Spring Member Meetings

From April 1-5, we will be hosting our annual spring meetings at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, California.

The full agenda includes task force, technical committee and working group meetings as well as a meeting of the Board of Directors.

Please register your attendance for each meeting you plan to attend on the Member website by Friday, 15 March.

This allows smartphones and other mobile devices to conveniently bridge mobile payments in Japan – and across borders – while also featuring mobile ticketing, access control, and loyalty programs.

Specifications Under Review

This document defines a mechanism for an application provider to confidentially manage its application.

This new version of the amendment, which includes an updated API, defines:

  • A new confidential key loading scenario
  • A mechanism for applications to request a CASD signature

Membership Review

This document defines an extension of the GlobalPlatform Card Specification to facilitate the deployment of contactless services in a Secure Element, located in a mobile handset.

This new version of the amendment, which comes with an updated API, adds the support for privacy-sensitive applications.
