Keep up to date with the latest news from GlobalPlatform
Happy New Year, for those of you that celebrated! I hope you had a wonderful time marking the occasion with your friends and family.
The past year saw many exciting developments for our organization. We kicked off the GlobalPlatform SESIP Seminar series with events in the United States, Spain and Taiwan, bringing together experts to discuss how the methodology addresses the needs of the IoT ecosystem. We launched two new Task Forces – Automotive and eID Wallet – and held our first Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum (CVF), where we are convening the ecosystem to advance the Task Force objectives. We also held our first Standardization Executives Roundtable with our Full Members to gather direction and feedback for GlobalPlatform’s technology roadmap.
Looking ahead to 2023, we will continue working to create collaborative and open ecosystems that set the standard for secure digital services and devices. Read below about how our work with OSIA is bringing interoperability to the digital identity systems market, the latest advancements in our automotive work, what’s next for SESIP and how we are preparing for the migration to post-quantum cryptography.
We also have an exciting calendar of events for both members and non-members. I am looking forward to seeing you during our Spring member meetings (week of March 27th) in San Diego. A special note to our GP Women, our first get together will take place on Thursday March 30th with a keynote speaker that will soon be announced.
I would also like to note that our Secure Device Forum 2023 event organized by the Japan Task Force takes place virtually on February 8th with a great line up of speakers including AWS, Microsoft and GSMA.
GlobalPlatform Events in 2023
GlobalPlatform events are an opportunity for our members to network with other industry experts and technology market leaders, drive forward technical priorities that matter to your business and contribute to the development of specifications and technical definitions that are guiding the future of cybersecurity.
We already have an exciting program of events for this coming year:
We look forward to announcing further events throughout the year which will be published on the Global Calendar in Workspace.

Francesca also explores how GlobalPlatform solutions for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) migration, Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and the Security Evaluation Standard for IoT Platforms (SESIP) methodology are helping drive activity across automotive use cases.
Watch nowThe OSIA global qualification program
GlobalPlatform is the qualification authority of the OSIA global qualification program. This has been launched by the Security Identity Alliance to bring interoperability to the identity systems market and ensure digital IDs can be accepted with confidence.
Vendors seeking to achieve OSIA Qualified status can assess their products and solutions against the OSIA test plan to determine if they are OSIA compliant. GlobalPlatform acts as the qualification authority by maintaining a list of all vendors and products that qualify.
