Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

Thank you to everyone who joined the two recent instalments of our SESIP Seminar Series. Both the Barcelona and Taiwan events had hundreds of attendees on-site and virtually to enjoy thought-provoking talks, case study presentations and insight-driven panel discussions. Here’s the video and a wrap up blog from Barcelona with links to the presentations.

Our first ever Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum brought together automotive leaders to enable cross-industry engagement on cybersecurity. The top three cybersecurity challenges in automotive are:

• Securing in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), gateway and telematic systems
• Securing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous systems
• Securing mobile phone apps, digital keys and other off vehicle components.

It was wonderful to meet many of our members in Lisbon for the recent annual Fall meetings. We announced our Board of Directors for fiscal year 2023 with Stéphanie El Rhomri (Fime) continuing in her role as Chair and Olivier Van Nieuwenhuyze (STMicroelectronics) elected Vice Chair. Claus Dietze (Giesecke + Devrient Mobile Security) takes over from Olivier as Treasurer and Secretary. We also confirmed our board members for 2023, where six seats were open. The following will serve a two-year term:

• Claus Dietze – Giesecke + Devrient Mobile Security
• Eikazu Niwano – NTT Corporation
• Jeremy O’Donoghue – Qualcomm
• Scott Migaldi – T-Mobile
• Richard Hayton – Trustonic
• Marc Kekicheff – Visa

Finally, do not forget to save the date for our next Spring meeting – taking place w/c March 27 in San Diego.
