ViVOtech Joins GlobalPlatform
Global leader of contactless payment technology and Near Field Communications (NFC) mobile infrastructure software , ViVOtech , joins the smart card specification body, GlobalPlatform, to contribute to the organization’s market interoperability initiatives.
04 March, 2008 – GlobalPlatform announced today that ViVOtech has joined its membership base and will participate in the organization’s specification and standardization activities. ViVOtech is an acknowledged leader in contactless and NFC mobile phone payment and promotion technologies.
ViVOtech has joined GlobalPlatform as an Observer Member to play an active role in the organization’s Mobile Task Force. The Mobile Task Force now brings together 25 of GlobalPlatform’s member companies, who work together - and in collaboration with other industry standardization bodies - to define technical requirements and specifications for a common and interoperable mobile payment infrastructure.
In addition to participating on the Mobile Task Force, ViVOtech will add its voice to the GlobalPlatform Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is an open forum for all members to discuss strategy, industry trends and the business and technical activities of GlobalPlatform directly with GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director, Technical Director and Board members.
