GlobalPlatform Training Sessions to take Place in Beijing

08 July 2014 - GlobalPlatform, the organization which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, will be hosting its next training session in Beijing at the Novotel Beijing Peace, from 19-21 August 2014. The course, available to members and non-members, introduces the capabilities and functions of GlobalPlatform Card Specifications and defines how they can be utilized to meet individual business needs.

The two-day card technology session, taking place from 19-20 August provides an in-depth explanation of the GlobalPlatform Card Specifications, and addresses secure channels, security domains and application programming interfaces. Over the course of the session delegates will develop a comprehensive understanding of how GlobalPlatform Specifications can support recognized business models.

This is followed by a one-day contactless training day on 21 August which covers GlobalPlatform Specifications for contactless-enabled services on mobile platforms. The session will address topics such as trusted service manager (TSM) messaging, the various secure element architectures and service lifecycle management. Attendance at the two-day training session is recommended to gain familiarity with the GlobalPlatform Specifications in preparation for the more advanced contactless training.

“This year has seen continued engagement with industry players in Asia,” comments GlobalPlatform Executive Director, Kevin Gillick. “The Beijing session represents a good opportunity to consolidate our presence in the region and to meet the burgeoning market demand for training on the management of multiple applications on secure chip technology.

“We hope delegates who attend this session find it as valuable as it has been for participants at our recent San Francisco session and that as a result of the training, they can feel confident in implementing the GlobalPlatform Specifications to meet their respective business needs.”

The two-day card specification training session is open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $1,595 and US $2,195 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $200 per student. Organizations sending three or more students will receive a discount of US $350 per student.

The GlobalPlatform for Contactless Training session is also open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $995 and US $1,295 respectively.
