GlobalPlatform Releases Details Of Paris Card Training Session

04 October 2010 - GlobalPlatform has announced its latest training event, to be held in Paris on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 December 2010. The organization has designed a two day training program to improve industry knowledge of its smart card specifications, their capabilities and functions and the benefits gained from implementing standardized and sustainable card technology. Planned for the week following Cartes and IDentification – the industry's flagship exhibition – the training session is easily accessible for those in attendance.

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, comments: "Following the success of this year's training sessions, we are pleased to offer a further opportunity to those who may have previously missed out on attending. The sessions shed light on GlobalPlatform card definitions and provide students with further information on GlobalPlatform's role, responsibilities and how its technology can support recognized business models.

"Since launching our open card training last year we have been overwhelmed by the industry's demand for this kind of specialized program," he continues. "GlobalPlatform invests considerable resources in the ongoing development of its educational activities and the positive feedback that has been received from participants is testament to the effectiveness of the initiative."

The Paris session will offer an explanation of GlobalPlatform Card Specifications, including details on secure channels, security domains and application programming interfaces. Furthermore, an in depth view of Card Specification v2.2 and its most recent amendments (A, C and D) will also be presented. Other topics to be covered include a systems technology update, GlobalPlatform messaging specifications and TSM extensions.

Training is open to GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $1,595 and US $2,195 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $200 per student. Organizations sending three or more will receive a discount of US $350 per student. To ensure good interaction between the instructor and students, there are a limited number of seats, so interested parties are advised to register promptly.
