GlobalPlatform Launches Mobile Contactless Training Session in Nice, France

4, September, 2012 - GlobalPlatform has launched a new one-day training session which will take place for the first time on Wednesday, 26 September, 2012 at the B4 Nice Plaza, Nice. The technical training from the industry body that manages the standardization of applications on secure chip technology, aims to educate participants on the role of GlobalPlatform Specifications in relation to contactless-enabled services on mobile platforms. Key topics to be covered include how GlobalPlatform’s technology supports the mobile wallet, trusted service manager (TSM) messaging and secure element management.

GlobalPlatform has developed this new one-day technical workshop titled ‘GlobalPlatform for Contactless’ as an extension to its introductory card specification training program. It is therefore highly recommended that students interested in attending the contactless session, and have not yet participated in GlobalPlatform training, first register to join the card specification event scheduled for 24-25 September at the B4 Nice Plaza in Nice.

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, comments: “Since launching its training program, GlobalPlatform has received an overwhelming demand from the industry for this specialist knowledge. The new mobile-focused session has been created in response to an increased uptake of GlobalPlatform Specifications by stakeholders engaged in the deployment of contactless-enabled services on mobile platforms. The agenda is designed to provide delegates with a more detailed understanding of the capabilities and functionality of GlobalPlatform Specifications particularly in reference to mobile implementations and the advancing mobile wallet and TSM ecosystems.”

The ‘GlobalPlatform for Contactless’ training session is open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $995 and US $1,295 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $100 per student. Organizations sending three of more students will receive a discount of US $200 per student.

GlobalPlatform’s traditional card specification training session is also open to both members and non-members at a fee of US $1,595 and US $2,195 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $200 per student and organizations sending three or more students will receive a discount of US $350 per student.

To ensure a good interaction between the instructor and student at both sessions, places are limited, therefore interested parties are advised to register promptly at https://globalplatform.wpengine.com/trainingopen.asp.
