GlobalPlatform Announces Latest Training Sessions in San Francisco
23 May 2014 – GlobalPlatform, the association which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, will be holding its latest card specification and contactless training sessions in San Francisco at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, from 3-5 June 2014. The program is designed to educate service providers, chip manufacturers and application developers on the benefits of managing secure-chip applications in a standardized environment.
GlobalPlatform is hosting the training sessions to improve industry knowledge of its card specifications and provide attendees with an understanding of how to leverage GlobalPlatform’s free-to-download specifications.
The session will provide an introduction to GlobalPlatform, before sharing a detailed explanation of the GlobalPlatform Card Specification – including secure channels, security domains and application programming interfaces. The meeting will also focus on examples of card structure and deployment models supported by a UICC Configuration.
GlobalPlatform for Contactless, the one-day session on 5 June, will exclusively address the role of GlobalPlatform Specifications in relation to contactless-enabled services on mobile platforms. Topics to be covered include mobile equipment architecture, mobile wallets, secure element configuration and trusted service manager messaging.
Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, comments: “Due to the success of our training sessions in San Francisco and San Jose in 2013, GlobalPlatform decided to bring its training back to the US this year. Industry demand for these types of sessions has increased due to recent advances in chip and contactless technology. The sessions will explain how chip manufacturers and application developers using GlobalPlatform Specifications can adapt their business models for different audiences and environments.”
The two-day card specification training session is open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $1,595 and US $2,195 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $200 per student. Organizations sending three or more students will receive a discount of US $350 per student.
The GlobalPlatform for Contactless Training session is also open to both GlobalPlatform members and non-members at a fee of US $995 and US $1,295 respectively. Organizations sending two students will receive a discount of US $100 per student. Organizations sending three of more students will receive a discount of US $200 per student.
To provide a dynamic learning environment, the sessions will be limited to a minimum of five students and a maximum of 15 students.
