FeliCa Networks was founded in 2004 in Japan to provide a contactless RFID Smart Card system.

Its core businesses are licensing relating to the development, manufacture and sale of devices and operating systems, mainly for Mobile FeliCa IC chip, operating platforms for its service providers and information processing and provision services.

FeliCa’s NFC technology combined with its networks service management aims to provide a powerful platform for contactless services. This is achieved by integrating its contactless IC card technology in mobile phones to provide new NFC solutions to the mobile handset market in Japan and enable the consumption of applications including e-wallets, transportation tickets, entertainment tickets and coupons.
