GlobalPlatform Star Awards

The Star Awards program was launched in 2004 as an opportunity for GlobalPlatform to recognize and award individuals who have demonstrated exemplary member participation throughout the year.

The awards celebrate individuals who have made a significant contribution toward GlobalPlatform’s vision of creating a fully collaborative and open ecosystem in which all stakeholders can efficiently deliver innovative digital services, while providing greater security, privacy, simplicity and convenience to users.

These individuals are enthusiastic and dedicated to driving GlobalPlatform’s work efforts, and the objectives of the Technical Committee or Task Force that they represented. Awards are presented for: Collaboration & teamwork, Innovative thinking, Making it happen, Leadership and Going the extra mile.

In 2019, the Kekicheff Award was created to acknowledge outstanding dedication and commitment to GlobalPlatform. Unlike the Star Awards that are given on an annual basis, this award is intended to be given from time-to-time to recognize extraordinary, impactful efforts over a long and sustained period of time.

“Innovative Thinking”

Pascal is participating and contributing to SE Specification activities for many years. He is constantly providing expert input from various areas (e.g. Java Card, eSE, UICC, cryptography) to shape the technical specification. Some time back, he provided the key contribution and supported the activity to specify SCP70 – a Secure Channel protocol dedicated for IoT use cases. The GP community, and the SE Specification group counts on Pascal to provide and defend his insights from “outside the box” to support GP’s future endeavors.

TES Committee

Béatrice Creusillet

Quarkslab

“Making It Happen”

Béatrice has worked very hard to put together a quality document on Software-based protections. Although Quarkslab is a smaller member, she has become an active participant elsewhere within the group, contributing to document reviews and working with her management to expand Quarkslab participation (they have just joined the Attack Experts WG to progress work to the next stage). I believe Béatrice is deserving both for her own significant contributions, and as an exemplar of the value that a smaller company can gain from GlobalPlatform membership given a strong commitment to the organization.
