Karl Eglof has helped define industry neutral specifications for the secure and interoperable deployment and management of multiple embedded applications of SE technology as Chair of our Secure Element Committee.

Don Felton has been an integral part of our TEE Specification Working Group, serving as its chair since 2011. His efforts helped improve the ability of Trusted Execution Environments to offer protection against attacks generated in the rest of the device and even other actors inside the TEE.

Eikazu Niwano has been awarded the GlobalPlatform Kekicheff Award to recognize his outstanding dedication and commitment to GlobalPlatform. He has been a key part of our organization since 2005, serving on the GlobalPlatform Board of Directors and leading the Japan Task Force. This award recognizes his extraordinary, impactful efforts.

Sandeep has provided support for the TEE Spec WG for a number of years now. He makes sure we aren’t forgetting our process, and we expose backend systems (such our bugs db) to all the members. Without his assistance the task of chairing the working group would be much harder.

Awarded for his efforts improving the ability for a Trusted Application to securely communicate with services outside of the TEE. Enabling simple secure communication to trusted cloud services and other remote backends hugely widens the options for TA developers and system developers. Arto has effectively "reverse engineered" the previous version of the relevant specification, fill in some of its larger holes, and brought it up to date with TLS 1.3.

For the huge effort he has put into the Keystore Specification.

John has been strongly involved to make the different draft of the attestation specification to become a specification” to something like “John has been strongly involved in creating different drafts of the attestation specification as it moves through the document review phases”

Gael is pushing different document and now start an open source project to make the SAM technology a reality.

For his recent and key contributions to GPCS Amd K (SCP04). Some time ago he also contributed a new CASD scenario ‘04’ to Amd A. Generally speaking, he contributes comments and has a good level of participation in SSWG meetings.

Mr. Stahl provided an outstanding effort as editor and contributor of the UICC API for Internet of Things specification. The specification defines a low-level API for the minimum UICC functionality needed in low-cost constrained IoT devices. During the entire specification development, Mr. Stahl showed great involvement and facilitated development with high quality. We thank Mr. Stahl for his great effort and contributions.

Mr. Felton has been driving activity in the TEE Working Group since it first started and is well-known for his enthusiasm and drive to ensure that the GlobalPlatform TEE remains at the forefront of people’s minds. As well as being a very long-serving Working Group Chair, he is also the primary editor and contributor to many of the TEE specifications. In the last year, it would have been easy to ease off on the gas and consider the TEE specifications as ‘finished’, but instead Mr. Felton has led the charge to significantly update the architecture in light of new SoC capabilities. This was very important work, as it encouraged vendors to look to GlobalPlatform rather than push proprietary approaches. From a TEE specification perspective, whilst many others contribute, Mr. Felton truly is GlobalPlatform and we thank him.

Mr. Parsel is a consistent and regular contributor to the requirements and editorial stages within the TEE Committee and Working Groups.  He is critical to the progress, as half of the meetings would be abandoned due to lack of minute taker if it was not for him. His insight into the external developers needs of the TEE environment is invaluable. We thank Mr. Parsel for his dedication and contributions.

Ms. Wuidart has been a long-standing and main supporter and contributor to SESIP.  She was highly involved in both writing and promotion, bringing with her a voice for hardware manufacturers. Even more notably this year, she heavily worked towards SESIP’s recognition by CEN/CENELEC, opening the door to a European Normalization, a very big step for SESIP enhancement and promotion. Many thanks to Ms. Wuidart for her strong commitment, valuable contributions and great achievement.

Mr. Galvan has been a long-standing and strong contributor to SESIP, bringing essential experience in hardware security and supporting SESIP promotion. This year in particular, Mr. Galvan has been driving the publication of an important White Paper for SESIP promotion, which demonstrates SESIP’s benefits and making them appealing to the IoT ecosystem, from manufacturer to vendors. Mr. Galvan is also currently leading another important White Paper aimed at showing, as concretely and as quantifiable as possible, the efficiency of SESIP, reinforcing again the SESIP attractivity. Many thanks to Mr. Galvan for his contributions and strong commitment to SESIP.

Ms. Menda-Shabat has been a strong contributor to SESIP, bringing essential support to the SESIP promotion. In particular, she successfully drove the registering of SESIP in the NIST database as a methodology relevant for the compliance demonstration of IoT products to the NIST 8259A requirements, which is a great first step for the internationalization of SESIP outside European borders. In parallel, Ms. Menda-Shabat has been driving the first GlobalPlatform SESIP profile release, the Secure Memory Profile, which expands the SESIP toolbox and increases SESIP applicability. Many thanks to Ms. Menda-Shabat for those most important steps for the international extension of SESIP, and for her strong commitment to the group.

Since the start of SESIP, Mr. Serratos has been heavily involved in the development of the specification and methodology.  He supported management of SESIP Sub-Task Force meetings, which occurred often and included intense discussion, leading to the creation of multiple valuable materials.  He was also one of the voices of the SESIP promotion, participating as a speaker in several conferences and workshops.  More recently, Mr. Serratos also became Vice Chair of the Security Task Force and has done well in this position.  He led the development of the new matrix requirements and is the initiator of the security requirement compatibility tool proposal. Thank you, Mr. Serratos for your consistent engagement and leadership.

Not only was Mr. Hamilton a driving force in the TEE Committee last year, but this year as well, his hard work and diligence has continued, pushing the latest version of the main TEE specification to release. Thank you, Mr. Hamilton, for your dedication which continues to make it happen.

Mr. Streets has put forth considerable effort in driving the TEE Management Framework (TMF) documents through release. His keen attention to detail while cross-referencing the entire TMF document suite has been invaluable. We thank Mr. Streets for his efforts, which enabled successful completion and publication.

Since the launch of IoTopia within GlobalPlatform, Mr. Lear has been a key contributor and source of expertise on Manufacturing Usage Description (MUD). He not only presented during 3 GlobalPlatform webinars, but also was a key expert contributor to the recently launched GlobalPlatform MUD File Service. We thank Mr. Lear for his efforts and continued contribution to GlobalPlatform’s IoTopia activities.

After providing key contributions to the Virtual Primary Platform (VPP) specifications, Mr. Schirar went the extra mile to contribute to and edit the recently published VPP White Paper.  This GlobalPlatform white paper would not have been possible without his expertise and guidance throughout the process.  For this exceptional effort, we thank Mr. Schirar.

Ms. Atallah introduced the SESIP (Security Evaluation Scheme for IoT Platforms) technology through the Fast Track process.  Several members submitted comments during the process, which were not easy to resolve.  However, Ms. Atallah strived for consensus through the whole process, which allowed for wider adoption among GlobalPlatform members and raised interest from the market.  We thank Ms. Atallah for her efforts and continued leadership of the SESIP activities and promotion.

Mr. Hamilton stepped in and personally drove the latest version of the GlobalPlatform TEE Internal Core API. His common sense and attention to detail is just what was required in this sort of role.  We thank Mr. Hamilton for his extraordinary efforts, which enabled successful completion and publication.

Mr. Picart has been faithfully participating in the SE Specification Working Group for several years now and has many times provided valuable contributions to improve GlobalPlatform’s SE specifications. Recently, he invested significant energy to making propositions to suitably adapt existing communication protocols for the market of IoT devices embedding Secure Elements, to be published in the upcoming “APDU Transport over SPI/2C” specification.

For several years now, Mr. Damour been a constant and consistent participant in the SE Security Working Group, and has many times provided support for minuting the conference calls and meetings. He is always one of the first to provide expertise and comment on a document under review in the group. More recently, he invested a lot of effort and energy into contributing to the setup of the SE Evaluation Methodology.

Mr. Talas provided an outstanding effort as editor and contributor to adapt the OMAPI Test Specification with the latest OMAPI core specification. Since Google endorsed the OMAPI specifications in the latest Android release, this alignment has been critical. Mr. Talas managed the comment resolutions very efficiently to avoid losing time between the different review stages. His outstanding work should allow GSMA to reference the OMAPI Test Specification in the coming TS.27 release and as well as alignment between the development and the test of the OMAPI technology by the end of the year.

Mr. Rivas Vidal provides constant constructive support on all topics around attacks in the TEE space, within the TEE Attack Expert WG. He volunteered to act as editor for a new contribution on biometric attacks description and rating. His dedication to this effort has been key to making it happen, and will advance our understanding of biometric attacks. Overall, his initiative and innovative work has made significant progress possible for the benefit of the whole GlobalPlatform TEE security community.

Mr. Dent has provided significant support to all the various efforts in the TEE Management Framework and OTrP OTA technologies. He brings expertise in practical OTA device management to the group, and works with all layers to resolve issues, both inside his area of direct interest and other technologies the group is working on.

Mr. Tamrakar took over a draft work in the OTrP effort and has driven resolution of the requirements of various organizations to build a practical and useful specification. Beyond that, he has successfully moved the specification into its first review stage and is leading it toward an efficient release.

Mr. O’Donoghue provides constant constructive support on all issues in the TEE space. He always provides useful feedback on open reviews, and has stepped in as editor on a number of current documents, not all of which are of direct interest to his company. He is a superb example of an active participant member.

Mr. Kita was a significant participant in the Multi-SE Working Group, contributing in the elaboration of the Managing Entity specification. He was involved throughout the entire process, and it took a long time to finalize the specification due to the number of systems involved and multiple technologies that have to work together. He also shared his extensive technical knowledge and helped the group by reviewing the specification to make it more consistent.

Mr. Martini has extensively contributed to the Card Specification Working Group. Over the last year and a half in particular, he has driven with outstanding engagement the SCP11c initiative. He has also been a resource in educating the group members and developing the relevant specifications.

Mr. Rolf has been a key contributor to the Wearables Requirements document. Not only has he significantly contributed to the use cases for wearables, but he has consistently provided the group with a new and fresh perspective. His input was particularly valuable as the DoD already runs pilots around wearable authentication.

Ms. Peirani met the challenge to lead the Crypto Sub-Task Force. During this period, the group published a list of all cryptographic algorithms used in all GlobalPlatform SE and TEE specifications. In addition, she examined and summarized the cryptographic recommendations from National Agencies, and sorted all GlobalPlatform cryptographic algorithms into categories mapped to the National Agencies’ recommendations. Even if the subject was sometimes controversial, she led the group to a consensus and conclusion.

Ms. Bringer took it upon herself to write most of the Managing Entity specification, and included an additional step in the resolution of comments from the Member Review. Her efforts to preserve the specification integrity were outstanding, and allowed the working group to concentrate on the technical topics during the meetings. She worked late in the evenings and weekends over a long period of time to have the slides and the specification ready in time for public review.

Mr. Hemmings has been an active contributor to the Card Security Working Group, always engaging in discussions in the most positive and constructive manner. For several years, he has provided his expertise on security in the banking market, which has been invaluable to the working group and its efforts.

Mr. Beziat exhibited firm persistence in the face of the seemingly endless task of pushing the TEE-equivalent of the GlobalPlatform Card Specification into its first release. His ability to manage this massive document, which has been ongoing since March of 2012, has been critical to achieving its imminent release.

Mr. Parsel has always brought a critical real world “consumer” view to the TEE Specification Working Group. He has been a continued supporter of the working group’s activities and his contributions have made both today’s and the future’s TEE a better product for all.

Mr. Felton shared his significant GlobalPlatform TEE expertise with the Root of Trust Sub-Task Force. His hard work made it possible to build the TEE section of the Root of Trust Definitions and Requirements with a high level of quality. His positive feedback helped to align the various points of view and to reach a homogeneous level of detail in the document.

Mr. Potter was a key contributor to the Root of Trust Definitions and Requirements, with his significant expertise of market views and his understanding of the Root of Trust as defined by other organizations. With his consensus and synthesis skills, he defined requirements with unambiguous wording that was still broad enough to match several types of secure implementations.

Mr. Summerer has been a leader and key contributor with respect to two notable white papers, taking it upon himself to not only drive forward both efforts, but to also actively provide content. The first white paper, which was just recently published, explains the value of FIDO authentication standards implemented based on GlobalPlatform technologies in different use cases. The second white paper initiative focuses on Decentralized Secure Element Management. His exceptional efforts not only required leadership and subject matter expertise, but also collaboration with other organizations.

Mr. Van Tilburg has been an active participant in the Card Security Working Group since the group was established. Recently, he efficiently and effectively contributed to facilitate the specification of the roaming of applications. His always positive and constructive attitude in the discussions is enjoyed and appreciated, and his expertise will be beneficial for the next challenges to be addressed.

In the Multi-Secure Element Working Group, Mr. Dos Santos contributed to the elaboration of the specification of the Management Entity, which coordinates the contactless activities between the different secure elements in a device. His significant expertise in GlobalPlatform’s Card Specification, Amendment C on Contactless Services in one Secure Element, and on the ETSI Specifications for HCI and the Single Wire Protocol was key to detecting global system issues and to identifying solutions to these complex problems.

Mr. Kuras provided significant contributions to the Card Compliance Working Group activities, bringing all of his expertise to help produce the best compliance test suite level for the eUICC project. His substantial involvement was also much appreciated when liaising between GSMA and GlobalPlatform, acting as a facilitator in the process.

Mr. Dietrich has now dedicated several years to the overall improvement of GlobalPlatform’s Card Specification. He has actively and consistently participated, in a very collaborative spirit, to improve the Card Specification year after year. His combined expertise of both telecom and ID markets and specifications has always been of valuable interest to the group.

Mr. Streets has been pivotal in seeing the needs of a work effort and stepping in to progress it and sort out any issues. Through this, he has taken on developing and contributing to three separate specification documents within the Device Committee. He is truly a driving force and making it happen.

Mr. Eichholz’s efforts have expanded beyond the TEE Specification Working Group to create useful and workable specifications and clear documentation, which has been a great support in the TEE space. He is a document editor and active contributor who is always looking for a new approach to the problem, splitting documents and providing different interpretations in a way that moves the specifications forward.

Mr. Galvan has been a key actor in building and leading the TEE Roadmap Working Group, and has also supported overall device technology within GlobalPlatform as the Device Committee Vice Chair. It is well known that sharing the roadmap between competitors is more complex than defining a new API, and Mr. Galvan has been able to skillfully drive these discussions.

Mr. Colnot has been responsible for motivating the IoT Task Force to think outside the box for usage and integration of a secure element in IoT devices. His motivation and work efforts have aided the task force in starting the development of new services for an eSE in such a device. Mr. Colnot’s innovative thinking has been a significant driving force within the IoT Task Force.

Mr. Ennesser was crucial in bringing about the collaboration between GlobalPlatform and oneM2M. He provides input and directions from the IoT standardization and regulation space, always pushing for a better collaboration and coordination with these external groups.

Mr. Sibert has personally driven the many possible certification solutions to move the GP TEE Protection Profile forward. This has required him to liaise with multiple external security certification organizations to forge a route for a new industrially acceptable certification in the face of the confusions of the current state of Common Criteria. Beyond this, Mr. Sibert has also stepped in to fill the gap in the TCG liaison.

Mr. Beziat is responsible for personally driving the efforts behind the hugely complicated GPD TEE Remote Administration specification over a period of more than two years. Juggling conflicting contributions and major re-writes, all while syncing minor issues throughout. Yes, this is a normal editor’s job but this particular document seems to have raised the normal issues by at least an order of magnitude and would have faltered without Mr. Beziat putting in many late nights to keep things moving on.

Mr. Guillaud has been highly involved in helping the group understand the SIMalliance OMAPI test suite, proposing solutions for Secure Element Access Control testing and supporting the adoption of the test suite within GSMA. He has also greatly helped product vendors throughout test sessions and testfests in analyzing the test tool verdicts and log files.

Mr. Blanco has provided unparalleled and impressive contribution to the E2E Simplified Framework Working Group. Despite the high level of complexity of the task and the significant existing technical direction for the specification, he was driven by making it simple and comprehensible. He was also very efficient in keeping all the contributors strongly involved and focused in the same direction.

Mr. Prince was strongly and substantially involved in the E2E Simplified Framework activities. He proposed and introduced a very efficient tool to simplify the understanding of the framework, and specifically to manage and optimize the large number of diagrams used in the specification. His support and contributions were invaluable.

Since the beginning of the Multi-Secure Element Working Group some years ago, Ms. Bringer was very active, submitted many requirements and significantly contributed to the roadmap. Her contributions often featured several implementation alternatives, which was very helpful in finding the best compromise. Recently, she provided the first draft of the Management Entity document, which has been a great step towards the completion of this objective.

Mr. van Nieuwenhuyze took over as the Working Group leader for the Multi-Secure Element Working Group, and has been invaluable in driving the work efforts. He has shown persistent commitment and clear leadership of the group.

Mr. Lu has been instrumental in guiding the work effort of the Premium Content Task Force, participating as its Vice-Chair and since leading as its interim Chair. He has been personally responsible for driving the complicated work effort forward.

In the Device Committee, Mr. Summerer has demonstrated a clear and enthusiastic willingness to progress the topics he was appointed to, including Secure Element Access Control and the secure channel between TEE and SE. He supplied the debate with high quality contributions, exposing fair and reasonable arguments, and thus helped the other contributors better understand the stated problems and make decisions for progress.

Mr. Ketenci is an active member of the Systems Committee, and specifically a strong contributor to Mobile Messaging. He is continuously bringing new ideas to enhance this technology, always listening and accounting for other views. The recent evolution of Mobile Messaging v1.2 is the direct result of these constructive discussions.

Ms. Chetali has been working in the Card Security Working Group since its creation, and attends a majority of the meetings. She is very active in the group and has proposed some excellent contributions with original ideas.

Mr. Selander was essential for moving forward the work in the Internet of Things Task Force, constantly contributing to the development of the GlobalPlatform position paper for the complex and volatile IoT/M2M market. His work was essential to keeping the IoT Task Force moving forward.

Ms. El Rhomri has been instrumental in liaising with ISO TC 204 and promoting the GlobalPlatform ecosystem to the mass transportation market. She also built a strong liaison with OSPT and the recently created Smart Ticketing Alliance, which helped the GlobalPlatform Transportation sub-Task Force receive direct input and requirements from public transportation ticketing. The recently published On-card Transaction API document is an outstanding outcome of Ms. El Rhomri's extended effort to answer this market.

Ms. Bergman has demonstrated specific innovative thinking both in the TSM WG by providing strong inputs on key management, and in particular by introducing the support of key management based on elliptic curves, and in the Compliance WG by analyzing and pushing for specific deployment schemes and advanced Service Provider to TSM relationships.

Mr. Louët has been leading the Secure Element Access Control WG of the Device Committee since its creation. He has been able to drive successfully the Secure Element Access Control 1.0 specification through 18 months of active discussions among GlobalPlatform members up to its public release in June. Through its development, the specification has raised interest in the industry, including GSMA.

Since the creation of the compliance WG, Mr. Amiard has been an active contributor by providing his feedback on the test scope, supporting the team to clarify the specification and sharing thought with the group. His support was very helpful to the group in reaching the objective of having a Test Suite ready within a year.

Mr. Pardieu has been working with the CCWG for many years and especially during the times when the CCWG was still a very small group of active members. He very willingly and quickly provided input and feedback whenever needed in spite of his obvious workload and other responsibilities. His very detailed knowledge of various aspects of smartcards and real-life use cases was very much appreciated by the group. And, last but not least, he was always willing to take on extra tasks or assignments if he was the only one available to do them -- and due to his outstanding expertise that happened rather often.

Mr. Goschenhofer has now dedicated several years to the overall improvement of the card specification. He has actively and consistently participated in a very collaborative spirit to improve card specifications. His deep knowledge of ETSI activities and specifications has also very often been of valuable interest to this group.

Mr. Picard has actively participated in and been a driving force in the Security Working Group. He contributes high quality suggestions and contributions.

Laurence Bringer has driven the SE OTA group to transform a GlobalPlatform smart card technology in the systems technology. This allows an issuer to over the air manage any secure element present in a mobile phone with a simple technology. It was a missing part of the GlobalPlatform technology and now, thanks to his dedication, GlobalPlatform provides even more technology and standard infrastructure to application providers.

Mr. Frey has contributed un-ending effort in creating the GP TEE Internal API. He has coordinated the inputs from a divergent group of individuals and worked late into the night to create a well structured document in tough time lines. While others have helpfully donated large amounts of material, it has been his effort that has brought it all together and by far the most material has come from Mr Frey himself.

Mr. Haselsteiner has been an outstanding leader, ensuring efficient meetings for the Card Security WG. Ernst has many times taken the pen to finalize some document and helped the team to reach on time the milestones of publication.

Mr. Saif has been contributing to the Card Specification Working Group for several years now. As the representative of a leading operator, he's been providing the group with clear insights about the telecom market. In many circumstances, he helped the group understand what really matters to mobile operators, and also proved to be a strong relay of the messages of the Mobile Task Force. In particular, this year, Mr. Saif initiated new discussions, bringing significant added value to several new or evolving card specification documents.

Mr. Gerard's clear insight and contributions were essential to facilitate a consensus among the team and improved the quality of the TSM Messaging specifications.

Ms. Elrhomri was integral to the GlobalPlatform Public Transportation Working Group, as she both lead and managed the Working Group. She also did an exceptional job in editing and producing the SAM White Paper. The recent press release on TC 204 liaison member is also a good sign of the excellent promotion of the GlobalPlatform organization in the Public transportation market.

During 2010, Mr. Galvan provided strong leadership, pushed the Device Committee in the right direction and managed to maintain a great spirit. Just like the rest of us, he is busy with his own organization's responsibilities; however he is able to allocate positive energy and direction to the group by providing constructive remarks that make a difference within the Device Committee and GlobalPlatform.

Mr. Harris has performed outstanding work for the release of the TEE Client API specifications, in both the technical and editorial aspects. He has brought technical expertise and also impartial quality to move the TEE Client API specifications rapidly to a GlobalPlatform public release. Thank you for all your support and soaring to Make it Happen!

The Systems Committee has taken a new technological direction thanks to Mr. Hoyer by migrating to OASIS. This is not a simple decision, as the Systems Committee needs to now change the way they work in order to take into account the obstacles and constraints coming from this new standard in the IT industry. Thanks to the support of Mr. Hoyer, the Systems Committee's technology will be even more efficient for future users.

Mr. Amiel has demonstrated exceptional commitment, team leadership and technical skills that helped the Systems Committee team resolve numerous TSM specification challenges, always as planned and in the most cordial conditions.

Mr. Pin has been a key element in the Card Compliance Working Group, managing multiple meetings and extending himself to try to find the right solutions to move forward. He developed the famous Excel tool to analyze all test tool reports and generate all indicators that the group is appropriately progressing from TestFest to TestFest. Thank you Mr. Pin for Making it Happen and all your support.

Under the direction and leadership of Mr. Fedronic, the Government Task Force embarked on a roadmap that produced two white papers and set the direction for GlobalPlatform specifications to be aligned with international and regional standards – a direction that will make it easier for governments around the world to point the language of their tenders in the direction of GlobalPlatform. We will miss his insight and vision not only in the GTF but on the Board of Directors as well.

This Star Award marks an important milestone in the development of GlobalPlatform technology. For more than two years, a dedicated team has worked on a specification that has catapulted GlobalPlatform into the arena of networked cards. We are talking about the Networked Framework, which we published 2 months ago. The person who pulled it all together, who organized multiple face-to-face meetings and conference calls, motivated his team, contributed his own contributions and verified ASN-1 structures is Mr. Potonniee.

The special challenge of this working group was not just to coordinate GlobalPlatform members, but also to integrate an external company into the writing of a specification. Furthermore, the group needed to steer this company's work by using a new tool for creating a test specification towards solid test coverage of the UICC Configuration. Several hurdles had to be overcome, such as a change in the baseline, because the work on the test specification had already been started before the UICC Configuration was published. Now the first parts of the Test Specification have entered the review process, and so, we want to take this opportunity to present a Star Award to Mr. Horsch, Head of the Card Compliance Working Group.

Mr. Nahari joined GlobalPlatform about a year ago, and from the beginning he invested his energy in focusing discussions and steering them toward conclusions. Often, his presence was like new oil in the process. He also hosted meetings in locations that everyone liked. And, it seemed that a mere one working group was not enough for him, so in addition to the Card Specification Working Group, he also engaged himself in Certification issues. This Star Award goes to Mr. Nahari for his great start, and we hope to keep you active for many more years!

Mr. Colas provided strong leadership and direction while providing a PC simulator tool for a GPD/STIP 2.3 environment. The PC simulator provides a training toolkit for application providers and systems integrators, and improves interoperability for a GPD/STIP 2.3 environment by giving a reference. This PC simulator is now ready to be delivered to GlobalPlatform members.

Moreover, Mr. Colas provided some major contributions that helped the Device Committee consider future add-ons to current specifications that may help drive the adoption of GPD/STIP for mobile markets in future.

Mr. Phan has made significant contributions to the Card Committee over the past several years, especially in the Card Specifications Working Group and the Mobile Task Force. He has been active in several technical working groups and has been a major factor in their progress due to the quality of his proposals and by judicious technical comments. Members of the Card Committee have expressed their gratitude for the positive spirit and goodwill Mr. Phan brings to GlobalPlatform gatherings.

Mr. Eglof Hartel has provided amazing expertise on ETSI specifications, mainly in OTA in the Card Specification Working Group during the discussion on the UICC configuration. He performed a detailed review to ensure that the UICC configuration was perfectly synchronized with ETSI technology. He has also been active in ETSI as a liaison between GlobalPlatform and ETSI SCP.

Mr. Eichholz brings energy and commitment to the Government Task Force and has provided his knowledge of ID standardization trends. He was highly responsive in verifying the scope of the GlobalPlatform extension and also helped facilitate the adoption of GlobalPlatform technology into ISO.

Mr. Seurin helped the Device Committee with quite a few accomplishments during 2007, including the completion of various Device Specifications. He led the redaction and finalization of DASM complementary documents (DASM Key and Certificate Management and DASM Provisioning). He also participated in the achievement of GPD STIP 2.3 specification. Mr. Seurin's significant work, personal investment, great team chemistry and dedication lead to the success of the Device Committee this year.

Mr. Millet is not only an active member on the Card Committee, but he committed full time to the success of the UICC configuration. His hard work, dedication and contribution to the Card Committee has lead the team to success. His support is a great representation of the Card Committee.

This award is to recognize the outstanding contribution, active participation, and engagement from a Member towards helping the organization achieve our objective of driving adoption of GlobalPlatform technology in global markets. Without the support of the Members, we would not benefit from the continued support of their individual contributors. The Member organization and individual contributor from that Member organization who we would like to especially acknowledge and recognize for this award is Rein de Greijp.

Specifically, Mr. de Greijp is being recognized for his contributions to the Government White Paper titled "The GlobalPlatform Value Proposition for Identity Management." He authored several sections of the paper, worked in a highly cooperative manner with other members of the team, never lost patience with the process and always kept his attention on 'what was in the best interest of the publication.' His energy, enthusiasm and personal engagement in this endeavor were exceptional.

Mr. Azema helped GlobalPlatform Device specifications gain visibility and adoption in the mobile industry, since the launch of GPD/STIP technology. Thanks to his efforts and a strong conviction of success in the GlobalPlatform Device standards, he largely facilitated the first adoption of GPD/STIP compliant products within the mobile market; enabling Texas Instruments to deliver the first GPD/STIP compliant platforms which could be embedded in mobiles devices. Mr. Azema currently continues to contribute very actively on the future potential development and deployment activities of these standards. He also continues to reinforce benefits of GPD/STIP standards and within various mobile oriented consortium.

As a result of the first Advisory Council in May 2006, GlobalPlatform decided to create the HSPD12 Task Force to extend Systems Specifications to support Issuance of FIPS201 compliant cards by the HSPD12 deadline (10/27/2006). Mr. Le Saint volunteered to lead this Task Force, and his personal energy, commitment and technical expertise enabled the task force to meet this challenge. He also worked heavily with US agencies to promote, present and ensure that this specification would meet the HSPD12 requirements.

During the work for GlobalPlatform Card Specification V2.2, Mr. Niwano-san represented NTT and NICSS. He specifically engaged in the design and creation of the Public Key Infrastructure based Secure Channel Protocol. He actively contributed not only the proposals by NTT and NICSS, but also provided valuable feedback to the other proposals made. Without Mr. Niwano-San's contributions and participation, SCP10 would not have matured to the stage that it is now.

This award is to recognize the outstanding contribution, active participation, and engagement from a Member towards helping the organization achieve our objective of driving adoption of GlobalPlatform technology in global markets. The Member organization and individual contributor from that Member organization who we would like to especially acknowledge and recognize for this award is Ms. Prince. She has made significant contributions to both the marketing and technical initiatives of GlobalPlatform, including participating as a GlobalPlatform speaker and representative of the DoD at GlobalPlatform's one day educational seminar at the Card Tech Secure Tech conference. She made a significant content and editorial contribution to the development of the Identity management white paper of the Government Task Force. Ms. Prince also participated in the work of the Systems Messaging Task Force for PIR initiative and as a speaker in GlobalPlatform's eID Panel Session at Cartes.

Mr. Lacouture made a real dedicated and personal investment to support the work on the Systems Profile and Scripting technology. He prepared and contributed much of his time to the FAQ analysis, verifying that the XML technology is well used in the Systems Committee.

Mr. Lucas dedicated his full time to the Device Committee, tirelessly working and making progress on the review of the Device Specifications and Compliance Program. He contributed his subject matter expertise to the Device Specifications, ensuring all details in each corner of the different deliverables.

Mr. Zhu was not only an active contributor in the Device Committee, but he attended all meetings and conference calls. He has actively communicated the GlobalPlatform Device technology mission as an external voice through his support of all GlobalPlatform Device events and GlobalPlatform speaking engagements.

Over the past year, Mr. Pirzadeh was actively engaged in the design process of GlobalPlatform Card Specification 2.2, as well as significantly contributed to the feedback process. Beyond delivering feedback to the group, he also kept track of the other participants' feedback, making sure resolutions were properly tracked and reminding the group of open items that still needed work. He also took detailed minutes and notes of the meetings. Mr. Pirzadeh was extremely helpful to the group itself and to the development of GP Card Specification 2.2.

Mr. Hoogendoorn took on the challenge of rallying participants in the Marketing Center and Systems Committee to collaborate on creating the foundation to understand the value propositions of the Systems Specifications for the government/ID, mobile telecom, and finance sectors. His guidance led to the development of a matrix that articulates the value propositions by industry and stakeholder. He also collaborated internally within his own company to provide the information needed to communicate GP's Systems offerings for government/ID. The information is now being used as the foundation for Harrison Cowley to create industry white papers.

Mr. Gungl led the Steering Committee for the Card Compliance WG and ICC Solutions in delivering the latest release of the Card Compliance Test Kit for version 2.1.1 of the Card Specification. His acting talent was also appreciated for playing the role of Governor Static in last year's Cartes All Member meeting presentation, "the Republic of Cleverland."

Mr. Landrock mobilized his company to step forward with time and resources to help GlobalPlatform successfully launch our first European Business seminar that resulted in an attendance of over 130 delegates from 15 different countries. He continued to be involved in the Steering Committee and capitalized on his networking ability to secure some of the local speakers on the agenda.

Mr. Lucas dedicated his extra time to successfully edit the STIP Specifications and the Test Plan, as well as finish the work started on the User's Guide. His extra efforts were seen as above and beyond the standard work.

Mr. Birkner always demonstrated enthusiasm for participating in the Planning Unit meetings and contributed his experience to bring pragmatic items and constructive feedback to make things happen during the discussions. He also served as the Vice-Chair of the Planning Unit.
