Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

It’s been an eventful month since my previous update.

Of particular importance was the unveiling of IoTopia to the membership. IoTopia is GlobalPlatform’s new initiative to address IoT security, and it will be publicly launched at IoT Solutions World Congress later this month.

In September, our technical workshops across Asia were a resounding success. My thanks go to all speakers, attendees and our sponsor, Trustonic.

Join us at IoT Solutions World Congress!

GlobalPlatform will publicly announce its IoTopia framework at IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona. Come and experience the launch on Wednesday 30th of October, 18.15-19.00 conveniently scheduled before the Gala Awards ceremony which will be sponsored this year by GlobalPlatform!

IoTopia will provide a toolkit to secure IoT devices across all markets and in line with global requirements. Keep an eye out for the press release.

Asian Technical Workshops

Like Seoul in August, our Tokyo and Shenzhen workshops were a great success with over 180 guests attending across all three locations.

Attendees learned about the latest technical releases from the SE, TEE and TPS committees, along with an up-to-date report on our functional and security certification programs.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended. These workshops would not be possible without your interest and input; as well as our sponsor Trustonic and the dedication of our speakers.

Call for 20th Anniversary Contributions

This year marks the 20th anniversary of GlobalPlatform.

To commemorate this milestone, we are encouraging members and partners to get involved in the celebrations directly, by contributing to our anniversary video.

Please share photos of your team; a video message of congratulations; your story about how GlobalPlatform has helped your organization meet its goals; or the value you receive from being a member.

We intend to bring contributions from members together to create a video, which will be shown at the Fall All Member Meeting in Madrid. Deadline for submission is Friday, 1 November.
