GlobalPlatform News – Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum, Technical Week and SESIP

Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

Thank you to all those who attended our eID Wallet Seminar last month. It was an engaging and insightful day of lively discussions around what the European Union Digital Identity (EUDI) initiative means and how it can be implemented effectively. Following this event, the presentations from our speakers are now live and you can read our recent white paper and blog to learn more.

Our second Standardization Executive Roundtable was also deeply insightful and the results will be discussed in full at our upcoming Technical Week meetings. Taking place June 12-16, Full and Participating Members are invited to join us as we review ongoing technical work, update workplans, and chart the future direction of GP security technologies for digital services and devices.

Wanted also to remind you that registrations are open for our upcoming Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum on June 20th taking place in Plymouth, MI, USA. There are also a number of opportunities for sponsorship of this event, so please do get in touch if you want to be a sponsor.

Interested in security evaluation? We have launched a new SESIP Marketing Steering Group to define and support the execution of SESIP's marketing strategy and ecosystem engagement program. Registrations for the new Steering Group are now open through our member workspace. We will also be launching our new SESIP Training Program and can start scheduling sessions from July onwards.

Finally, I’d like to welcome our newest member, CARIAD. Joining GlobalPlatform as an Observer Level Member, CARIAD is an automotive software company in the Volkswagen Group that is working to develop a tech stack that makes the automotive experience safer, more sustainable and more comfortable for all.

White Paper: The Cornerstone of Trust and Interoperability for the European Union Digital Identity Wallet

The European Union Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet will be used to access a wide range of online and offline services and transactions across the European Union. As such, it is important that the EUDI Wallet has been thoroughly tested and found interoperable, secure, and reliable.

Our most recent white paper, “The Cornerstone of Trust and Interoperability for the European Union Digital Identity Wallet” explores these concerns, discussing how the initiative can provide a secure and convenient way for citizens to prove and share identity information throughout Europe.
