Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

The countdown is on for our 2024 Spring Meetings. Register now to join us in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from March 25-28. In addition to our regular committee and task force meetings, I wanted to highlight:

  • Our Security Task Force (March 26th) will focus on PQC and SBOM and count with a number of guest speakers that will give perspectives from the US Government (NIST, NIAP and DHS), China, Japan and Automotive.
  • Don’t forget you can also register to attend the SESIP Workshop, on March 26. We are inviting US Government and vertical associations to discuss SESIP adoption.
  • On March 27th we will host our Digital Identity Wallet Seminar, which will gather industry leaders to discuss the importance of high security and certification for identity wallets in North America. I am pleased to announce that among these experts will be Mike McCaskill, Director of Identity Management at The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) who will deliver a keynote presentation on “Mobile Drivers Licenses in the US and David Zeuthen who will present Google’s perspective on identity.” Read more and register below.

Our TechTalk webinar series continues this month with a third session on Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), which we will share more details on soon. If you are interested in a specific topic or want to speak in one of our next sessions, you can email our secretariat at secretariat@globalplatform.org

Don’t Miss Out on our Digital Identity Seminar

Join GlobalPlatform’s Digital Identity Seminar in Las Vegas on March 27. The seminar will bring together experts from Government and industry to share perspectives and key learnings for Digital Identity and eID Wallet deployments in North America. One such expert is Mike McCaskill (AAMVA) who will deliver a keynote on mobile driver’s licences in the US.

The event will take a deep dive into specific industry use cases, including payments, financial services and automotive, demonstrating the different ways of achieving a high level of security using secure elements. Attendees will also learn how the certification of eID solutions can be streamlined thanks to the Security Evaluation Standard for IoT Platforms (SESIP) methodology.
