Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

The first half of 2019 may be drawing to an end but there is still a lot to look forward to in the next seven months.

First up is our technical workshop on June 6 in Washington DC, which will be followed by parallel events in Seoul, Shenzhen and Tokyo in August and September. You can find out more about these free to attend events below.

In May, we published five expert interviews from our fall meetings. In addition, we published three technical documents for download plus made a fourth available for review.

GlobalPlatform Technical Workshop Series Comes to Asia

GlobalPlatform is hosting three free-to-attend workshops investigating key GlobalPlatform technologies. Each session will provide participants with an opportunity to interact with subject matter experts.

The technical workshops will take place in:

  • Seoul, Korea – August 27
  • Shenzhen, China – September 24 and September 25
  • Tokyo, Japan – September 27

New Document Releases

This is the first release of the OTrP remote management standard for TEE since the donation of version 1.0 to GlobalPlatform by the creators, OTPA. This standard provides an alternative to the TMF ASN.1 Profile, and its use of JSON and PK509 makes it suitable for use with larger TEEs.

This is a maintenance release for the purpose of better aligning the name and internal terminology with the new GPD TMF OTrP Profile document.

A minor maintenance update of the Internal Core API that fixes bugs and shows all non-trivial changes since v1.2.

Specifications Under Review

This new version of the Amendment, which comes with an updated API, defines:

  • A new Confidential Key Loading Scenario.
  • A mechanism for Applications to request a CASD signature, the CASD Signature Service.
