Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

Dear GlobalPlatform Members,

A big thank you to everyone who participated in GlobalPlatform’s 2025 Spring Meeting, whether in person or virtually. The event brought together members from around the world to align on key initiatives, share insights, and continue shaping the future of secure digital services. The collaborative energy and shared vision across sectors underscored the importance of our global, cross-industry mission.

In addition to the GlobalPlatform committee and task force meetings, the co-located Financial Services Workshop and Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum reflected the depth of member engagement across critical sectors. These focused sessions provided a platform for strategic dialogue with industry leaders—ensuring GlobalPlatform remains closely aligned with emerging technology trends and evolving market needs. Among the developments from the meeting, the SBOM sub-task force shared on its expanded charter to consider the impact of HBOM (Hardware Bill of Materials) and CBOM (Crypto Bill of Materials), provide guidance on the Device LifeCycle (DevSecOps), and collaborate with the SESIP Committee on CRA conformance. New GlobalPlatform Members
As the trusted foundation for secure digital services, GlobalPlatform thrives on diverse perspectives and expertise that help shape standards for an increasingly connected world. Expanding our membership across regions, sectors, and technologies strengthens our ability to address evolving market needs and drive meaningful, global collaboration. Over the past month, we are thrilled to welcome several new members in the last month, including AIST, Licel, NFTC, and NTHPermutation.

As we move into the spring and summer seasons, I wanted to make you aware of our upcoming meetings and events:

Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum – May 15 & 22 – China and Japan

We will be visiting China and Japan to engage with members and explore the latest developments in automotive cybersecurity impacting the region. The Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum will be held in Shanghai on May 15 and in Yokohama on May 22. Review the agenda and register to participate in person or virtually.

Technical Week – June 23-27 – Grenoble, France

Full and participating members are encouraged to attend Technical Week, where we will review ongoing technical work, update workplans, and develop our technical roadmap for the future of GlobalPlatform specifications.

Global Digital Collaboration – July 1-2 – Geneva, Switzerland

GlobalPlatform is pleased to be a co-organizer of the Global Digital Collaboration taking place July 1-2 in Geneva. This unique gathering will bring together global technical communities, governments, and innovators to advance open standards, cross-border interoperability, and secure digital infrastructure for public good.
