Trusted Logic Adds Voice to GlobalPlatform’s Device Committee
3 September, 2007 – GlobalPlatform has welcomed Trusted Logic as a permanent and active participant on its Device Committee, following the company’s decision to upgrade its membership to the international smart card specifications body from Observer to Participating Member level.
As a provider of secure open software for embedded systems, Trusted Logic has already developed a number of commercial products which support GlobalPlatfom’s Specifications for devices and cards. As a participant on the Device Committee, Trusted Logic will join other GlobalPlatform Members, contributing its specialist expertise and technical knowledge to aid in the definition of an open architecture and software framework for single and multi-application smart card acceptance devices that enable the rapid development and deployment of acceptance device applications.
Dominique Bolignano, CEO of Trusted Logic, comments: “Trusted Logic’s security middleware product strategy is based on open technologies and our products already support GlobalPlatform’s Specifications. It is therefore natural for Trusted Logic to become more actively and directly involved in shaping the Device Specifications for the benefit of the industry and we look forward to sharing our expertise to aid in the standardization of open security solutions.”
Bob Beer, Chairman of GlobalPlatform and Vice President of Business Development at Datacard Group, adds: “Trusted Logic has an extensive understanding of both market and technical requirements with regards to an open device infrastructure and this will be invaluable to the discussions and activities of GlobalPlatform’s Device Committee. As an organization which is driven by member collaboration, the more objective participation we can attract on our committees, the stronger our organization’s proposition becomes to the industry and the more our members – and those choosing to deploy GlobalPlatform technology – benefit from their engagement with the organization. Trusted Logic has recognized that being active on GlobalPlatform’s committees offers a real commercial value and as an organization we are happy to welcome its commitment.”
