The Industrial Internet Consortium and GlobalPlatform Announce Liaison

NEEDHAM, MA – December 20, 2018 – The Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC), the world’s leading organization transforming business and society by accelerating the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and GlobalPlatform, the standard for secure digital services and devices, announce today they have agreed to a liaison to work together to advance their shared interests. Under the agreement, the IIC and GlobalPlatform will work together to align efforts to maximize interoperability, portability, security and privacy for the industrial Internet.

Joint activities between the IIC and GlobalPlatform will include:

• The exchange of technical information to drive the rollout of security technologies and best practices for IIoT and related market segments, including:
  • Technical specifications
  • Best practices guides
  • Whitepapers
  • Use cases

• Collaboration on joint technical and tactical activities to identify and share good security practices, including:
  • Workshops
  • Marketing activities and promotion
  • Webinars
