GlobalPlatform To Deliver Mobile Payments Workshop At Cards Asia 2007

23 March 2007 - International smart card specifications body, GlobalPlatform, will be delivering a half day workshop at Cards & Payments Asia 2007, entitled: Applying GlobalPlatform Specifications in Mobile Payment Applications. To be held on the afternoon of Thursday 26 April, the exclusive masterclass is a value-added complementary session open to all delegates attending the conference.

Following an introduction to GlobalPlatform, the session will educate participants on how GlobalPlatform smart card specifications are being applied to the financial payment and mobile sectors, and the unique position of the technology to accelerate the convergence of these applications in a highly secure and standardized manner.

Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform, who will be leading the workshop, comments: “Cards Asia 2007 provides the ideal environment to raise industry awareness of the technical developments achieved by GlobalPlatform that we believe will significantly impact the emerging mobile payments sector.  The workshop also offers GlobalPlatform an opportunity to gain knowledge of current regional trends, and receive feedback on industry requirements from the delegates attending.”
