The delegates will receive a business overview of GlobalPlatform's value proposition and the importance of standardization, a high level technical overview of GlobalPlatform's Specifications and current activities, a briefing on GlobalPlatform implementations deployed today across industries and a look at future GlobalPlatform opportunities for the Chinese smart card industry.

Presentations throughout the day will be structured as follows:

  • Financial Implementations of GlobalPlatform
  • Government Implementations of GlobalPlatform
  • Mobile Telecom Implementations of GlobalPlatform
  • Leveraging GlobalPlatform Technology
  • Future of GlobalPlatform Technology

Bob Beer, Chairman of GlobalPlatform, comments: "China has a rapidly growing market for smart card infrastructure. This seminar aims to ensure that the regional smart card industry is aware of GlobalPlatform's technology for cards, devices and systems, which is available for royalty-free download from www.globalplatform.org, and understands the long term benefits it offers.

"By raising awareness of GlobalPlatform in China, we hope to reinforce our position as the provider of the standard for smart card infrastructure and encourage broader adoption of GlobalPlatform Specifications amongst those players that are not yet enjoying the benefits of our technology.

"The seminar program will offer a valuable insight into opportunities and challenges for the smart card industry in China, and with so many interesting and dynamic speakers committed to making this day a success we look forward to welcoming many delegates from the region."

Real time translation in Mandarin and English will be provided for all presentations.

The seminar will conclude with a cocktail reception, where delegates will have the opportunity to meet GlobalPlatform's Board of Directors, Technical and Business Committees, representatives from its member organizations and guest speakers.
