Crocus Technology Joins GlobalPlatform
25 October 2012 – GlobalPlatform, the organization which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, has welcomed its latest Observer Member, Crocus Technology.
As an Observer Member, Crocus – the developer of a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) based rugged magnetic technology capable of offering advanced embedded security – will direct its attention towards GlobalPlatform’s Government and Mobile Task Forces.
Alain Faburel, Vice President Security Business Unit of Crocus, comments: “At a time when we are launching new technologies into the marketplace, involvement in the association responsible for driving the future of mobile device security is essential for us. Furthermore, GlobalPlatform has many of the major players in the secure chip technology industry amongst its members and it is our ambition to become one of them. Through our involvement we hope to contribute to the advancement of specifications and the definition of new standards.”
