Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

Dear GlobalPlatform Members,

In an era where digital threats evolve faster than ever, GlobalPlatform remains committed to advancing trusted global security standards. This month, we bring you key updates on new tools, recent achievements, and upcoming events. Together, we’re shaping a more secure digital future.

We have added a new member benefit to our full and participant memberships. Now within each technical committee space on the member portal, participants can now interact with an AI assistant to explore the published specifications in their own languages. This assistant is a technically focused version of the AI model and is currently in a learning phase. Your feedback is essential as we work to improve its performance.

You’ll also notice an AI chatbot icon in the bottom right corner of GlobalPlatform.org. Visitors can use this tool to ask questions about GlobalPlatform, covering topics like membership, trainings, upcoming events, and our ongoing work. Please note that this chatbot doesn’t access specifications or other PDF documents. We hope these tools make it easier to stay informed, and we’d appreciate any feedback you have on your experience.

I’m pleased to report that on April 1, the SESIP Committee published the SESIP mapping to the NIST 8425 into the OLIR database. This mapping enables OEMs to address the upcoming US Cyber Trust Mark by leveraging secure, SESIP-certified components to meet conformance requirements. Congratulations to everyone involved on this important milestone.

Next week, I’ll be traveling to China and Japan with other members of the GlobalPlatform leadership team. As previously shared, we’re hosting the Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum in Shanghai on May 15 and in Yokohama on May 22. Global Digital Collaboration – July 1-2 – Geneva, Switzerland
GlobalPlatform is pleased to co-organize the Global Digital Collaboration event taking place July 1-2 in Geneva. This unique gathering will bring together global technical communities, government representatives, and innovators to advance open standards, cross-border interoperability, and secure digital infrastructure for public good.
