Letter from GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director

Dear GlobalPlatform Members,

Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, we hope this year brings your company or organization success, growth, and prosperity. Thank you for being an integral part of our community and contributing to the shared progress we’ve achieved together.

We’re thrilled to announce some exciting events and opportunities lined up for this spring:

Spring Members Meeting & Financial Services Workshop

Mark your calendars for the Spring Members Meeting, taking place March 31 to April 4^th in vibrant New Orleans, LA, USA. The technical committees and task forces will have the opportunity to discuss current progress and outline future priorities.

This meeting will also include a Financial Services Workshop (on March 31), where experts and thought leaders will explore emerging trends and new security requirements impacting digital currencies, in-car payments, mobile wallets and more. We will also examine the potential use of SAM for financial services. Stay tuned for detailed agendas and registration information.

Secure Element Training in Brussels

Join us for a dedicated SE for EUDI (Secure Element for European Union Digital Identity) training session in Brussels, Belgium this March 17-18. This training is a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of secure element technology to support the security of EUDI (e.g. SAM and CSP). Register here.

In conjunction with the SE for EUDI training, we’ll also be holding a Java Card Development on SE for EUDI Training. The developer focused training sponsored by Oracle will cover:

• Java Card technology API, Library, APDU part of Java card
• SDK – simulator
• From Java Card code to personalized applet
• Secure-by-design development of an applet from scratch

GlobalPlatform at EU Cyber Acts Conference

GlobalPlatform will once again be participating in the EU Cyber Acts Conference. This year, we are hosting the IoT Cyber Compliance Day, taking place on March 25^th, providing a full day of content on preparing for the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and emerging regulations, with a focus on SESIP. Carlos Serratos and Olivier Van Nieuwenhuyze will also be speaking in the main conference. Take advantage of the 20% registration discount for GlobalPlatform members, available in the member portal.
