Gil and I have just returned from an exciting week in Beijing. We had the opportunity to engage with a number of GP members and potential new members in China to discuss our work on eID, SESIP, emerging isolation technologies, SAM, CRA and more. We look forward to continuing to understand and support the unique security requirements in China.

This year marks GlobalPlatform’s 25th anniversary and the report includes a unique timeline, marking key milestones in our work to standardize secure digital services.

With the introduction of a cross-border digital identity scheme, several stakeholders will have to come together to deliver the EU Digital Identity (EUDI) wallet. GlobalPlatform is convening the 2nd eID Seminar to deep dive into the technologies available to help member states and the supporting stakeholders deploy EUDI Wallets swiftly and securely. We have developed a robust agenda with representatives from BSI, ENISA, Samsung, SPRIN-D, VISA, Thales and more.
In person or virtual attendance is available. GlobalPlatform members can access a free registration code in the member workspace. Government representatives are also invited to attend free of charge.

Engagement in Japan - October
Later in October, Gil and I, along with other GlobalPlatform representatives, will be traveling to Tokyo to take part in a meeting of the Japan Task Force, engage in an automotive security roundtable (Oct. 24th), attend the digital identity focused SIDI Hub event (Oct. 25th) as well as engage with our Japanese membership. Fall Members Meeting
This year’s Fall Meeting will take place in Porto, Portugal, November 18-22 and will once again bring together all members to discuss and define key priorities for the organization. The joint meeting with ENISA will be held on Wednesday, November 20th. The full agenda will be available soon. RSVP and book your hotel here by September 30th.
Dekra to lead sub-working group on SESIP for automotive
Newly joined member, Dekra, will be heading up a sub-working group of the SESIP Committee to focus on SESIP’s relevance to the automotive market. Jorge Wallace Ruiz will be leading the group in exploring SESIP’s role in simplifying automotive security certification. Join the SESIP Committee to contribute.
