GlobalPlatform Executive Director announces retirement

A message from Kevin Gillick

Dear members, partners, colleagues and friends,

It is with mixed emotions that I write this update. After more than 15 years as GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director, I will join my wife in retirement at the end of the GlobalPlatform fiscal year on September 30.

It has been a remarkable privilege to lead GlobalPlatform, supporting its evolution from standardizing and certifying secure components right through to our SESIP and IoTopia initiatives that are bringing greater trust to IoT. I am delighted to say that I will hand over the reins of a vibrant organization that is helping the ecosystem to securely build, certify and manage the connected world around us. 

I’d like to thank everyone that has both supported me in my career and helped to drive the success of GlobalPlatform. I’m honored to now call many of you my friends. Particular thanks goes to our Technical Director, Gil Bernabeu and all past and present members of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Committee and Task Force Chairs and Working Group Leaders. With this strong team of leaders in place the selection of the next Executive Director and the organization are in safe hands. To enable this process, we have posted a job description online here.

I look forward to connecting with our members, partners and industry colleagues over the coming months as we plan for the future of GlobalPlatform and a successful transition period.
