GlobalPlatform At CTST 2007

03 May 2007 - International smart card specifications body, GlobalPlatform, will deliver a full day session at CardTech SecurTech 2007, entitled: Applying GlobalPlatform Technology in ID and Mobile. Scheduled for Tuesday 15 May, from 9 am–5:30 pm, the session is aimed at delegates with an intermediate knowledge of the smart card market and its related technology.

Moderated by GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director, Kevin Gillick, the session offers an insight, from a card, device and systems perspective, into the business and technical benefits of standardization in integrated smart card implementations. Key presentations will outline the relevance of GlobalPlatform technology to the Government ID and mobile sectors and many existing deployments from across the world will be showcased as real life illustrations, including the US Department of Defense Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card, the US Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card Program and Visa’s Contactless Reference Implementations in Asia Pacific.

Oberthur CS will run its ‘Fingerprint Match on Card’ demonstration, which uses GlobalPlatform technology, throughout the show. Oberthur booth: 551.
