Datang Microelectronics Technology Has Become The Latest Member of GlobalPlatform

23 May, 2007 – Datang Microelectronics Technology (DMT) has announced its membership to the international smart card specification body, GlobalPlatform. As one of China’s largest smart card integrated circuit (IC) design providers, and a leader of the mobile communication smart card market in China, DMT’s decision to join GlobalPlatform reflects the company’s commitment to developing and promoting interoperable specifications for the entire smart card infrastructure.

As an Observer Member of GlobalPlatform, DMT will be able to monitor the card, device and systems technology developments and debates of GlobalPlatform, and alongside all other members, participate in the organization’s Advisory Council; a forum attended by GlobalPlatform’s Executive Director and Board of Directors, which discusses the business and technical activities of the group. DMT will also participate in the recently launched Mobile Task Force, and work with GlobalPlatform to ensure technical specifications meet the requirements of the Chinese mobile telecom smart card industry.
