GlobalPlatform Publishes Annual Training Calendar
24 January 2013 – In response to growing demand from the industry for its specialist training sessions, GlobalPlatform has today announced the launch of its global annual training calendar. The schedule provides interested delegates with the information needed to identify which training session will be at a location and time convenient to them in 2013.
GlobalPlatform, the organization which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, hosts regular two-day GlobalPlatform Card Specification Training and one-day GlobalPlatform Contactless Training events for both members and non-members globally. As markets converge to deliver innovative chip-based solutions, for example mobile services or identity credentials, there is an increasing need to use an agreed and established infrastructure. This has resulted in GlobalPlatform’s Specifications becoming increasingly relevant in today’s marketplace, which in turn has caused its training sessions to become extremely popular and over-subscribed.
Kevin Gillick, Executive Director at GlobalPlatform, comments: “GlobalPlatform has been running its open training on an ad-hoc basis for a number of years. During this time, we have seen a steady increase in registrations, which has resulted in us having to manage an ever-growing waiting list of eager delegates. By publishing an annual calendar that includes dates, locations and fees, we hope to arm interested stakeholders with the information they need to register well in advance for the session most convenient to them and better plan their training schedules, travel itineraries and budgets.”
GlobalPlatform’s Card Specification Training educates participants on the importance of the latest specifications and amendments, their capabilities and functionality. The Contactless Training focuses on the role of GlobalPlatform’s activity in relation to contactless-enabled services on mobile platforms, including topics such as how GlobalPlatform’s technology supports the mobile wallet, trusted service manager messaging and secure element management.
