Overview
Europe’s cross-border digital identity initiative—the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet—is reaching its most critical milestone yet as Member States finalize deployments ahead of the official rollout obligations under the eIDAS 2.0 regulation. With the deadline arriving—is Europe fully prepared for this digital ID revolution?
That central question drives the fourth annual Digital Wallet Seminar, taking place in Brussels in October 2026. Bringing together key stakeholders from across Europe’s digital identity ecosystem—including representatives from EU institutions, Member States, trust service providers, and private sector leaders—this event addresses the expanding role of mobile digital wallets as the cornerstone of cross-border interoperability for identity, payments, and digital currencies.
With national schemes scaling up, public sandboxes opening, and insights emerging from mature large-scale pilots, the focus has shifted from architectural planning to real-world operational readiness. Standardized security remains at the heart of these efforts, ensuring citizens and businesses can access public and private services with verified trust, strict data privacy, and full confidence.
For over two decades, GlobalPlatform technologies have underpinned secure solutions across identity, payments, and government infrastructure. To support the evolving EUDI architecture, GlobalPlatform continues to advance its secure element specifications, including Secure Application on Mobile (SAM) and Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP). Furthermore, GlobalPlatform is expanding its scope into supporting the HSM ecosystem standardization—establishing unified frameworks for server-side, remote, and hybrid HSM deployments to ensure end-to-end trust from cloud to edge device.
Join us in Brussels to engage with industry leaders, gain critical technical insights, and help shape the secure future of digital identity across Europe and beyond.
