Overview

GlobalPlatform’s Cybersecurity Vehicle Forum returns on May 19, 2026, with a hybrid meeting hosted by DEKRA North America in Michigan, USA. The forum will bring together industry stakeholders to explore practical approaches to automotive cybersecurity, including SESIP component security evaluation and certification, supply chain security, Automotive Micro-TEE development for HPSE requirements, secure element enablement, and GlobalPlatform’s post-quantum cryptography roadmap.

Richard Hayton is on the Board of Directors, and is also the Chair of the TEE Committee at GlobalPlatform where he contributes to the organization’s technical initiatives bringing over 30 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry. Richard is a regular speaker and influencer in the cybersecurity arena.

At Trustonic, Richard’s focus has been on enabling the telecoms industry – manufacturers and mobile operators, the automotive industry as well as application developers, to all benefit from embedded security and strong device identity. Prior to Trustonic, Richard held various roles at Citrix including Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer and Chief Technology Officer. During 20 years at Citrix, he led projects ranging from embedded software to global enterprise systems, with a focus on user and developer experience.

He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Cambridge University, focusing on identity federation for users, devices and services.

Amadou Kane is a Sr. Solution Engineer and the North America Technical Lead at VicOne.

With extensive experience in the automotive industry, previously spearheaded Wistron NeWeb's V2X programs in North America and served as the Automotive Business Development Manager, specializing in connectivity and ADAS.

Amadou brings a wealth of expertise in developing innovative solutions to address the evolving challenges in automotive technology. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Master's of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Bill is the co-chair of the Automotive Task Force at GlobalPlatform. Drawing on his extensive experience in standardizing hardware-protected security and cybersecurity engineering processes within the automotive industry, Bill is committed to guiding the sector toward a unified, secure, and scalable foundation for the next generation of software-defined vehicles.

Phil Lapczynski is a Principal Engineer for Automotive Security at Renesas Electronics America, Inc. He is vice chair of the Uptane Standard and contributing member to SAE TEVEES18 – Vehicle Electrical System Security Committee.  He leads the Hardware Protected Security Environment API working group within the SAE TEVEES18B - Vehicle Electrical Hardware Security Task Force. Phil is also an adjunct professor at University of Detroit Mercy, creating and teaching VCE5400 Secure Vehicle Embedded Systems course.
