GlobalPlatform Secures IoT Keynote from ARM for TEE Conference on Connected Device Security

September 21 – GlobalPlatform has announced that Rusti Baker, Senior Director Security Segment at ARM, a Softbank company, will be the keynote speaker for the organization’s 4th annual trusted execution environment (TEE) conference, taking place on October 13 in Santa Clara, California.

Ms. Baker will discuss the hidden success of TEE technology in the internet of things (IoT) ecosystem. The presentation will investigate the status of the TEE and demonstrate the widespread adoption of the technology across consumer devices, such as smartphones, set-top-boxes, and tablets, as well as within connected-living, automotive and industrial deployments around the world. The keynote will close with analysis of the challenges facing the industry in the coming years and the next steps to drive the ongoing adoption of innovative device security technology.

“IoT security is a hot topic right now so I can’t think of a better way to kick off our 2016 TEE conference,” comments Kevin Gillick, Executive Director of GlobalPlatform. “While TEE standardization efforts are advancing rapidly thanks to work that has been ongoing within GlobalPlatform for a number of years, some stakeholders still perceive this secure component as a ‘new’ technology. Rusti’s keynote will educate delegates on its widespread adoption to date, providing affirmation that this is already an established and secure solution. By sharing her unique insight, gained from roles within world class technology leaders, Rusti’s keynote will provide delegates with a valuable perspective on the current status and vast potential of this technology ecosystem.”

Ms. Baker will be joined by expert speakers from companies including Ericsson, FIDO Alliance, Gartner, Gemalto, Giesecke & Devrient, Linaro, Rivetz, Trusted Labs, Trustonic and Verimatrix. The schedule of panel sessions, speaker presentations and the keynote will explore: TEE security, interoperability, authentication and certification with FIDO Alliance; mobile payments and IoT security; trusted application development; and premium content protection.

GlobalPlatform’s Annual TEE conference is the market's only comprehensive event focused on the evolving TEE landscape. The one-day industry gathering provides delegates with an insight into the vast opportunities presented by this technology for the deployment of trusted applications in open environments.
