GlobalPlatform members gathered in Paris last month for our Technical Week, where committees made significant progress on the technologies and standards shaping the future of secure digital ecosystems.
Key Takeaways from Technical Week:
- Clarifying the SESIP ecosystem: The SESIP Committee is focused reviewing the messaging and positioning for the SESIP methodology, SESIP scheme and PSA Certified scheme in order to better promote its use and advantages.
- Updated TES Committee strategy: The TES Committee agreed on an updated strategic direction focused on advancing the GlobalPlatform TEE ecosystem through TEE Core 2.0 and micro-TEE integration to support a broader range of devices and architectures. In parallel, the committee will drive the ongoing development and governance of the PSA APIs, ensuring these widely adopted interfaces continue to evolve in line with industry requirements and emerging security challenges.
- Advancing secure digital wallets: The SE Committee continues to develop specifications supporting European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet implementations while incorporating post-quantum cryptography (PQC) capabilities to prepare secure elements for the next generation of cryptographic threats.
Across our committees and task forces, discussions focused on ensuring GlobalPlatform continues to meet the evolving needs of industry and regulators. Just following technical week, GlobalPlatform joined the ITU in collaboration with a number of global partners in launching a new focus group on Trust and Identity for Humans and Agentic AI.
