How we work

GlobalPlatform has a legacy of successful technical specification development and market adoption thanks to two decades of energetic and effective industry collaboration.

GlobalPlatform members work together to ensure the association’s specifications align with existing and emerging market requirements. Our members share a common goal to develop GlobalPlatform specifications, which are highly regarded as the international standard for enabling digital services and devices to be trusted and securely managed throughout their lifecycle.

To achieve successful technical specification development and implementation GlobalPlatform welcomes contributions and relies on strategic direction from:

  • 2,600 industry representatives who participate from approximately 90 member companies.
  • 3 technical committees which manage the maintenance and evolution of GlobalPlatform’s specifications. The technical committees are further supported by industry experts which contribute to 20 technically focused work groups.
  • 5 task forces, which provide guidance on market sector and geographical requirements, opportunities and challenges.
  • 30 industry partners, comprising numerous standards bodies and regional organizations across the world, to ensure continual relevance, timeliness and resource sharing.

Organization Structure

GlobalPlatform’s focus and outputs are overseen by the Board of Directors, which governs the execution of the association’s strategy through the GlobalPlatform Executive Committee and technical experts from its membership.

The cross-industry collaboration ensures open ecosystems in which all stakeholders can efficiently deliver innovative digital services, while providing greater security, privacy, simplicity and convenience for users.
